Clever Integration with Speakable (Free)
1. Overview
Introduction to Clever Integration: Speakable seamlessly integrates with Clever, allowing teachers to import and sync student rosters directly from Clever. This eliminates the need for manual data entry and ensures that student information is always current.
2. Getting Started with Speakable via Clever
No Speakable Account Needed: Teachers do not need to create a separate Speakable account. Access to Speakable is granted through the Clever platform.
Logging into Speakable:
- Access Speakable via Clever: Log in to your Clever account and locate the Speakable app.
- Launch Speakable: Click on the Speakable app within Clever. This will automatically log you into Speakable using your Clever credentials, setting up your account in the process.
3. Importing Class Rosters from Clever
- Open the Popup from the “Create Classroom” button: After logging into Speakable via Clever, click on "Create Classroom" button.
- Select Clever as the Source: Choose "Clever" from the available options.
- Load Clever Sections: The system will automatically load your Clever sections.
- Select and Import Sections: Check the boxes next to the sections you wish to import and click the "Import" button.
- Note: Clever only shares students' first names and last initials. Because no email addresses are provided, students must log in through the Clever app to access Speakable.
4. Syncing Class Rosters with Clever
- Go to the Classroom Page: Navigate to the desired classroom within Speakable.
- Use the Sync Button: Click the "Sync With Clever" button located at the top right of the classroom page to update the roster with any changes made in Clever.
- Confirm Sync: Ensure that the roster now reflects the latest updates from Clever.
5. Additional Notes
- Student Login Requirements: Since Clever does not share student email addresses, students must always log in through the Clever app to access their assignments in Speakable.
- Roster Data: Only the first name and last initial of students are imported from Clever to maintain privacy while enabling essential functionality.
6. Troubleshooting and Support
- Common Issues: If Clever sections do not load or sync properly, try refreshing the page or logging out and back into Clever.
